It’s one thing to help relieve your period pain now. It’s another to look at why you are experiencing period pain in the first place. Seeing a naturopathic practitioner is different from seeing other health care professionals.
A naturopath will help to look for the cause of your period pain. If we can help fix the cause of your period pain, PMS and other hormonal symptoms, then we just don’t help fix it this month, but for years to come.
Imagine the only way you know you have your period is because of the obvious!
If you are sick of experiencing period pain each month and want to feel “normal” again, then seeing a naturopath may be the answer.
What happens in a naturopathic consultation:
Seeing a naturopath has some similarities to seeing your doctor, but also a few differences.
- During the initial consult your naturopath, like your doctor, will ask you lots of questions. This consultation time runs for an hour so that we can assess where your health is and possible causes of the imbalance in your body.
We then conduct a free 15 minute testing session where we test base parameters such as blood pressure, urinalysis and BMI. And give you a treatment sheet to follow.
- Between the first and the second consultation, your naturopath will write up a “Report of Findings” which explains the plan they have for you. This plan may change as we are treating a person, not a plan, but it will give you good indication of what to expect during your naturopathic experience.
- Your naturopath may suggest some tests. Some of these can be done through your GP (if they agree with your naturopath) and some of them may be at an additional cost. We always tailor treatments to your budget.
- Your naturopath may suggest some lifestyle and dietary changes to help improve your health. We make changes as “doable” as possible and are always working with you to make sure these suggestions resonate with you.
